User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.21 SUSE/11.0.674.0 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/11.0.674.0 Safari/534.21 If I try to modprobe the driver pata_hpt3x2n with hard disks attached to the IDE controller the system freezes, _however_ if no disks are attached modprobing works and system continues to run. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Have the system automatically modprobe pata_hpt3x2n at boot time or 1. If pata_hpt3x2n is blacklisted run "modprobe pata_hpt3x2" after system is running. Actual Results: System freezes completely. Expected Results: The system should've had recognized the disks I have attached to the HighPoint Technologies, Inc. HPT302/302N (rev 02) controller. When system boots it autoloads the modules pata_hpt37x and pata_hpt3x2n. At first I thought they were conflicting with each other, but after black listing pata_hpt3x2n (echo "blacklist pata_hpt3x2n" >> /etc/modprobe.d/50-blacklist.conf && mkinitrd) the system is able to load normaly, although only having the pata_hpt37x module modprobed doesn't get any disks attached to the controller recognized. I have also tried modprobing the module pata_hpt366 but I guess it doesn't work for my card. I'm positive my hardware is ok because it works fine under other operating systems. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
