https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=679452 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=679452#c0 Summary: zypper dup breaks system when upgrading from 11.3 to 11.4 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Update Problems AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: koenig@linux.de QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- my 1st try to upgrade from 11.3 to 11.4 using "zypper dup" breaks like this: .. Removing libknotificationitem-1-1-4.3.5-0.1.1 [..done] Removing liblouis0-1.7.0-2.2 [..done] Removing liblzma0-4.999.9beta-3.7 [..done] Removing liblzma0-32bit-4.999.9beta-3.7 [.error] Removal of (42614)liblzma0-32bit-4.999.9beta-3.7.x86_64(@System) failed: Error: Subprocess failed. Error: RPM failed: rpm: error while loading shared libraries: liblzma.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Abort, retry, ignore? [a/r/i] (a): .done] fortuneately this was running in a chrooted copy of 11.3, so I was able to copy the missing liblzma.so.0: back to the to-be-upgraded tree -- otherwise this is a show stopper for "zypper dup" style upgrades:-(((( rest of the upgrade when smooth but again quite slow (4.5 hours for 3754 packages from DVD-x86_86 with DSL-2k for the remaining packages), although so far I did not have time to try booting the new system, so the final voting has to wait a bit;) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
