I'm not a SW-developer, but I found out, that at least in the file
/usr/src/linux/drivers/ata/ahci.c the chip SIMG5723s has been mentioned.
This chip is quite the same as my SiL5723.
ahci.c seems to address another problem, but I see, that some problems with the
chip are wellknown.
When I GOOGLE "SIMG5723" I get a lot of information about 5723 related bugs
repaired in the several Linux systems.
Although Knoppix my problem (described above) does not appear, I could not find
a ahci.c file in the Knoppix sources. So the kernel sources semm to have
another base.
These are just some findings, which probably could help to identify the bug.
Could someone please try to solve my problem?
Thank you very much in advance!
Holger
