To comment 5: The image belongs to a system which runs in a VM. Libvirtd wasn't
enabled / running at all. It was another process, which had been access to the
fs. Unfortunately I hadn't enabled lsof at this point and wasn't able to
reproduce it until now.
But the problem is not libvirtd or kdesud or kblancscr or whatever could be
running during shutdown / umount. The problem is, that a filesystem can't be
unmounted which is in use. There should be a solution to prevent a shutdown /
reboot if the filesystem can't be unmounted.
Minimally, there should a lsof be integrated, if the umount fails in order to
provide the user the possibility to see the reason why the umount fails.
