https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=662854 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=662854#c0 Summary: first KMail startup after upgrade to 11.4: Mails lost/invisible - more prominent hint on indexing wanted Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Factory Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: suse-beta@cboltz.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer Blocker: --- First startup of KMail after the update from 11.3 to 11.4 Factory (between M5 and M6): - kmail-migration runs (more or less, see bug 662851) - KMail starts Then I was shocked: all mail folders are there - but they are empty! After the first shock, I noticed a little progress bar in the status bar at 0%. Clicking it showed "KMail Folders" - "Syncronizing email folders". After waiting long enough (~30 minutes for 4.5 GB of mails) my mails are back. However, shocking users is not nice! :-/ Please let KMail display a more visible message in this situation - either in the message list ("synchronizing folders - please wait. This might take a while.") or (easier to implement, but not that good) let the migration tool display a warning message. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
