Sorry for taking so long, but I had some exams to finish. Went testing
with/without "nolapic_timer" (an other workaround, using it right now), hope it
doesn't matter.
Output of cat /proc/acpi/processor/CPU0/power
-With nolapic_timer:
active state: C0
max_cstate: C8
maximum allowed latency: 2000000000 usec
states:
C1: type[C1] promotion[--] demotion[--] latency[001]
usage[00000000] duration[00000000000000000000]
C2: type[C2] promotion[--] demotion[--] latency[001]
usage[00000000] duration[00000000000000000000]
C3: type[C3] promotion[--] demotion[--] latency[162]

-Without nolapic_timer:

I am using the default kernel in fedora 14, "kernel-2.6.35.9-64.fc14.x86_64".
The above output was collected after some time of light rt-benchmarking while
doing a little webbrowsing and testing audio and video playback. In the latter
case, I actually watched a 162 minutes long film (!).
This kernel impresses me. Without nolapic_timer, it probably hangs just as
frequent as 2.6.35.7, but the longest hang (recorded by rt-benchmark) was less
than 4 seconds, which explains how I managed to watch a movie.
