https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=659156 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=659156#c0 Summary: Selected Display Resolution Is Not Persistent Across Reboots Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Milestone 4 of 6 Platform: PC OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: malv_star@hotmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-GB; rv:1.9.2.12) Gecko/20101026 SUSE/3.6.12-0.7.1 Firefox/3.6.12 If a user enters the KDE System Settings interface, and goes into the "display" section, it is possible to select a screen resolution different to the current, automatically-selected setting. After selection, the user clicks apply and is prompted to "keep" the configuration. Doing so results in the chosen resolution being displayed on the screen until the user reboots. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Click on the Kickoff Menu and select "System Settings" 2. In the "Hardware" section, click on "Display and Monitor" 3. In "Size and Orientation", select an alternate (sensible) size from the dropdown "Size" list. For example, if using a 4:3 ratio LCD, select 1024x768 instead of the automatic 1280x1024. 4. Apply the changes and click "Accept Configuration" when prompted. Actual Results: The screen resolution changes, but this is lost on next reboot. Expected Results: The screen resolution changes, and this change is remembered by the system so that the screen resolution is automatically modified on next reboot. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
