--- Comment #10 from Charlie Barfield 2010-12-08 10:44:48 UTC ---
this is the steps i redid for installing from a usb device (not the network
source), with intention of providing yast logs.
after reboot after "installing" the loader onto windows
it booted into a text type setup asking for disk 1. i directed it to sdc1 and
typed in / for root (as the text box was blank).
it successfully loaded the installation system and got into the graphical
setup.
did shift f8. looked for /dev/sdc1 (this is the location the setup is looking
for its files which it told me from the error i get later, i thought i could
save the logs to the same drive) but it wasnt there... this is what is in /dev
: block bsg bus char cpu disk fd input mapper net usb. going to fd does not
light the Floppy led.
so i typed it in: /dev/sdc1/y2logs.tgz and got 'couldnt save y2logs to
(file&dir) - exit code 512.'
continued setup.
cannot access installation media
hd:///?device=/dev/sdc1
opensuse-11.3 11.3-1.82
check whether the server is accessible
Charlie.
