Sascha Peilicke
I think there is a misunderstanding about this bug, I am a busy maintainer of multimedia apps and libs so to change my email address atm is a no no.
When a build service account is set up and oscrc is originally created, it is created with the user's novell account email address. The feature I'm requesting is for osc to check the users email hasn't changed and if it has to automatically update it in oscrc. This could happen when "osc vc" is used as "osc vc" is the only function that needs the users email address. Is this explanation a bit clearer?
Thanks again for your input, but I still don't see this enhancement as a worthy improvement. Tools should not overwrite user-specific configuration in $HOME. Much like you don't expect your Vi, Zsh or Git to overwrite their configs if you use different settings in a specific session. Actually, I don't see where in .oscrc you would've set your mail address. I've not set one and it works like a charm without (by fetching it from the API host). The following command reveals that the OBS mail is correctly set. Just remove it from .oscrc then. $ osc meta user plater <person> <login>plater</login> <email>davejplater@gmail.com</email> <realname>Dave Plater</realname> Just in case, I'm assigning this to Markus Hüwe, the osc maintainer. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
