The important difference is that when the client does a lookup for /q, it gets
a different file handle in each of the two cases.
In the case where it doesn't work, the file handle is in the same filesystem
as the fsid=0 export - i.e. it is in /disks/nfsserver.
In the case where it doesn't work, it is in a different filesystem.
So presumably /disks/nfsserver is an empty directory on which you have mounted
something else.
In the case where it doesn't work, you see that empty directory.
In the case where it does work, you see the 'something else'.
So it seems that 'crossmnt' is being ignored as that is what tells nfsd to
follow
the mount point.
I'll look through recent patches to see what could cause that.
Meanwhile please confirm that /disks/nfsserver/q is indeed a place where some
other filesystem is mounted.
