However there are two problems that happen with the refresh step:- 1. Over slow networks, the refreshing of large repositories like the oss takes a lot of time and I don't mean about five or six minutes -- sometimes my incredibly slow network has seen this particular process prolong the otherwise incredibly fast installation to over 15 minutes or so. 2. There is no way to specify proxy-settings for the network if one is using the automatic configuration, and so when the refreshing of repositories is attempted, it obviously fails after trying to connect to network, eventually delaying installation for nothing during the attempt. I suggest that, the step where repositories try to refresh themselves be eliminated altogether from the workflow. Refreshing of repos and searching for updates can be done after the user has installed and logs in to his account the first time. I don't see the DVD installation trying to refresh the repos like the LiveCD's do.
