In a way. Binaries no, but you can get the kernel sources at git://git.gitorious.org/opensuse . Just rewind HEAD to a tree that contains the 2.6.32 version patches.
I've not yet had luck compiling a Xen kernel and having it boot. I'll see how far I get this time ... [reply] [-] Comment 5 Jan Beulich 2010-09-16 08:53:59 UTC
Is this a problem only with the 32-bit kernel?
I don't know. 32-bit's the only installed scenario I have to test
Is this only visible when using pv-grub?
As per OP, yes.
Also, please attach logs rather than posting them inline, to keep the bug manageable.
noted.
Finally, to keep a clean picture, please make sure you use hypervisor and tools packages from 11.3 when reporting bugs against this product.
i don't own the Dom0; it's not opensuse. as for the DomU, xen-libs-4.0.0_21091_05-6.6.i586 xen-tools-domU-4.0.0_21091_05-6.6.i586 are from http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.3/repo/oss/suse/i586/xen-libs-4... http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.3/repo/oss/suse/i586/xen-tools-... Also, we'll need "xm dmesg" output associated with this (perhaps after adding "loglvl=all guest_loglvl=all" to the Xen command line).
I don't have access to the Dom0 host boot config. Only to out-of-band console 'logview' log access, which I've presented.
Seems like the code is being mis-compiled (see bug 639756), but the mis-compilation (due to other code changes) doesn't happen anymore with kernels 2.6.34.6 or newer. You may want to try the one at http://download.opensuse.org/update/11.3-test/rpm/i586/.
installing just the kernel, rpm -qa | egrep "^kernel|xen-" kernel-xen-2.6.34.7-0.2.2.i586 xen-libs-4.0.0_21091_05-6.6.i586 xen-tools-domU-4.0.0_21091_05-6.6.i586 boot from pv-grub, 32-bit, is apparently now successful (apart from the kernel module version mismatches caused), uname -a Linux edge 2.6.34.7-0.2-xen #1 SMP 2010-09-14 14:21:06 +0200 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux when are this kernel, and associated deps, planned to be promoted to release/update distro? thanks. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
