http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=631475 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=631475#c0 Summary: Freezing of the image occurs at unexpected (and random?) moments Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: edwin@secureoffice.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-GB; rv:1.9.2.8) Gecko/20100723 SUSE/3.6.8-1.3 Firefox/3.6.8 GTB7.1 Since upgrading to 11.3, I experience often screen freezes. The image gets completely still, but most of the times the mouse is still there and can be moved (but only that). If the keyboard is still working, I can go to the console (Ctrl-F1), but if I try to go back with Ctrl-F7, it just gets black. The PC is still up and running though. I can connect to it via ssh, but see no odd things. No processes that have gone out of control, everything seems okay. The freezes sometimes occur when opening a new window (in Firefox), or when choosing a window from the carousel, or (and here it occurs mostly) when viewing a movie clip in full-screen mode (e.g. from Youtube). But it sometimes just occurs when moving the mouse, or when the screen saver was active.... No clues to what is causing this can be found in the log files. Is it KDE? Is it Xorg? No idea... I have reinstalled Firefox and created a new profile. I have also reinstalled Xorg and X11, and started with a fresh /etc/X11. Now I have run out of options.
