Something similar happens on my Dell Studio 1737 laptop after upgrade to 11.3
x86_64, but not as often as described in the bug report. Sometimes, during
video playback, the desktop appear to freeze for 1-2 seconds (mouse stops
moving, keyboard does not respond) however video playback continues
uninterrupted. Nothing suspicious in dmesg or /var/log/messages. I've tried to
use top and iotop to spot what may the cause and it seems that each time the
freeze occurs, one of the jbd2/sdaX-8 processes/threads was active. So I wonder
if the problem is related to the issues talked about here:

Apparently there is a kernel patch for 2.6.35 - perhaps it could be backported
to 2.6.34?
