http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=623283 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=623283#c0 Summary: printer prints 100% black pages Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Printing AssignedTo: jsmeix@novell.com ReportedBy: batpul@gmail.com QAContact: jsmeix@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=376628) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=376628) yast2 printer driver configuration User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686 (x86_64); en-US; rv:1.9.2.6) Gecko/20100625 Firefox/3.6.6 After upgrading to openSUSE 11.3 my printer emits fully black pages only. This hasn't happened before ever. I have a Canon i850. I tried two printer drivers. The CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.4 gutenprint/stp-bjc-i850.5.2.ppd.gz and the CUPS+Gutenprint v5.0.2 downloaded/Canon_I850.ppd both exhibited this behavior. When printing a test page with the latter there was some error popup about a missing rastering/rasterizing-something file not found. After selecting the CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.4 Simplified (sim.ppd.gz I believe) the test page succeeds fine and my document prints fine. See image. There's a problem with yast2 printer. When I open it it immediately adds another instance of the same printer. Also loading the printer configuration drivers takes very long. I don't bother to test this more as long as it keeps working since it took me too much time already! (Another bug: whenever I open an image with xv then the X server and icewm start consuming 100% CPU. Other image displayers work fine. Only the combination with xv has this bug.) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.upgrade to 11.3 2.configure printer 3.printer emits fully black pages. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
