Additional data. I loaded PCLinux OS (beacuse I wanted to test 2.6.33 kernel
branch) and here ethernet device is still working:
***
[guest@localhost ~]$ uname -r
2.6.33.5-pclos1.bfs
[guest@localhost ~]$ dmesg | grep e1000e
e1000e: Intel(R) PRO/1000 Network Driver - 1.0.2-k2
e1000e: Copyright (c) 1999 - 2009 Intel Corporation.
e1000e 0000:02:00.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 16
e1000e 0000:02:00.0: setting latency timer to 64
e1000e 0000:02:00.0: irq 28 for MSI/MSI-X
e1000e 0000:02:00.0: irq 28 for MSI/MSI-X
e1000e 0000:02:00.0: irq 28 for MSI/MSI-X
e1000e: eth0 NIC Link is Up 1000 Mbps Full Duplex, Flow Control: RX/TX
***
So it seems that something in between 2.6.33 and 2.6.34 kernels just went very
badly for this adapter :-?
