Hi Lars: My pc is a member of a win$ AD. When I start my computer I use the
/etc/init.d/smbfs script to mount windows shares from windows servers. At this
point I need winbind to the authentification against the Windows AD. In the
orgiginal order of the init scripts winbind starts at S09winbind. smbfs starts
at S05smbfs. So winbind is not started at the time when smbfs will mount cifs
shares.
Mounting fails. If I look on my filesystem no windows share from windows
servers are mounted. Only smb shares from my linux boxes are mounted. At the
time when my pc is completely above, when I'm logged in, start a terminal and
make a rcsmbfs restart everything is fine and this is logical because of
winbind is started at this time. So I understand winbind is needed to
authentificate me and my conputer against a win$ AD.
So winbind must be started before the smbfs script goes.
