http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=596582 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=596582#c0 Summary: Akonadi should only start on-demand but it starts on login with errors Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Milestone 5 Platform: i686 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: martin.schlander@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Opera/9.80 (X11; Linux x86_64; U; da) Presto/2.2.15 Version/10.10 Logging in on a fresh installation (M5), Akonadi is started, even though no KDEPIM related apps or daemons are running. This is unfortunate for a number of reasons: - Makes startup slower - Having akonadi, mysql etc. running for apparently no reason is unnecessary overhead in general - The akonadi selftest always seems to report scary errors. Wouldn't it be possible to only start akonadi if/when it's actually needed/used?
