--- Comment #21 from Vadim Krevs 2010-04-07 22:35:04 UTC ---
Just updated to latest ALSA KMP and pulseaudio from the multimedia: repository
from OBS, and restarted.
After login into KDE, there is still no login sound, and a notification is
displayed "Device HDA Intel (STAC92xx Analog) stopped working, falling back to
Pulseaudio". No application configured to use PulseAudio can play any sound.
However, if I go to System Settings->Multimedia, select Pulseaudio and click on
"Test" then no sound is played. The volumes aren't muted, checked that. If I
select "Device HDA Intel (STAC92xx Analog)" and click "Test", then sound is
played, which contradicts the original system notification after login. No
application configured to use PulseAudio can play any sound.
Only after I issue "rcalsasound restart" from a root konsole, do all
applications configured to use PulseAudio start playing sound.
