http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=593871 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=593871#c0 Summary: NetworkManager-gnome: CDMA Connection doesn't get USB Modem to dialup Mobile Broadband Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Milestone 3 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: terje@nordland-teknikk.no QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.2) Gecko/20100317 SUSE/3.6.2-1.1 Firefox/3.6.2 I'm using a ice.net D-50 (CDMA EV-DO rev A) USB modem, also sold as Cmotech CNU-680 other places, connected to the USB port on a hp8710w mobile workstation. There is an entry 'CDMA Connection' found on the NetworkManager-gnome menu. Selecting this entry causes the NM applet to spin maybe a minute or so (until timeout?). But no dialup connection is established, no connection lamp that illuminates, just the waiting lamp twingkling on the modem. (Even worser, the included D-50 modem driver RDEVCHG for /dev/ttyACM0 that worked for Gnome-PPP/wvdial, and also the later cmotech-qtmodem rpm that installs a D-50 Modem Manager program, both worked on openSUSE 11.1 with traditional network setup, but none of these tools works on openSUSE 11.3 with D-50.) ---------------------- Output: # ls -la /dev/ttyUSB1 crw-rw---- 1 root dialout 188, 1 2010-04-06 00:15 /dev/ttyUSB1 # lsusb Bus 006 Device 003: ID 16d8:680a CMOTECH Co., Ltd. # dmesg | grep USB1 [ 14.980365] usb 6-1: GSM modem (1-port) converter now attached to ttyUSB1 [ 15.994937] option1 ttyUSB1: GSM modem (1-port) converter now disconnected from ttyUSB1 [ 17.559810] usb 6-1: GSM modem (1-port) converter now attached to ttyUSB1 # dmesg | grep CMOTECH [ 2.707543] usb 6-1: Product: CMOTECH CDMA Technologies [ 2.707544] usb 6-1: Manufacturer: CMOTECH CO., LTD.
