I would, if I knew how to do that. I can provide any specific /var/log file, or
output of dmesg, but I do not know what is meant by "attach to the process with
gdb and get a few stack traces". Can you point me to a reference or simplify
the explanation a bit as to how I get this? Sorry for my lack of knowledge.

I understand gdb is a program to install, and that I can get some sort of trace

gdb -p pid

. but what is the technique? Do I redirect the output to a file with:

gdb -p pid > my-gdb-file.txt ????

.. apologies, but I need some guidance here not to waste your time.
