Please do the following:

open a terminal

type:

killall pcmanfm
pcmanfm --desktop


WITHOUT closing the terminal, do any action able to reproduce your issue
post (or attach) everything is printed into terminal. pcmanfm and libfm are
built with "--enable-debug"
so you should see lines like

** (pcmanfm:8439): DEBUG: unable to load icon csg-medusa.png

those DEBUG messages are the most important
