http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=591072 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=591072#c0 Summary: Application-browser keeps "New applications" forever instead of expiring them as appropriate Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Milestone 3 Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: badshah400@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.0) Gecko/20100115 SUSE/3.6.0-2.1 Firefox/3.6 The application-browser slab in gnome registers newly installed or updated applications in the "New applications" group it shows at the top (new items are registered in the text file ~/config/ab-newapps.txt and shown in the slab in a separate group). However these items in the "New application" group remain there as long as they are not uninstalled or superseded by other more recent applications installed. As a result some items might stay on there for months and even after one has used the applications hundreds of times. There should be a way to expire entries from the "New applications" group in the application-browser after a certain number of uses or days as appropriate. Then the group name would stand for what it really means.
