--- Comment #2 from Joachim Reichelt 2010-03-16 14:14:11 UTC ---
We are in an inhose net without firewalls inside
Server:
(is not a client)
nero:~/bin # ps -ef | grep statd
root 12869 1 0 Jan19 ? 00:06:29 /usr/sbin/rpc.statd
root 23070 17572 0 15:01 pts/7 00:00:00 grep statd
nero:~/bin # rpcinfo -p | grep status
100024 1 udp 60471 status
100024 1 tcp 46454 status
Client:
(is only client, not server)
sb-lola:~ # ps -ef | grep statd
root 2482 1 0 Mar12 ? 00:00:00 rpc.statd --no-notify
root 22090 22047 0 15:03 pts/10 00:00:00 grep statd
sb-lola:~ # rpcinfo -p | grep status
100024 1 udp 46350 status
100024 1 tcp 54429 status
sb-lola:~ # ps -ef | grep not
root 55 2 0 Mar12 ? 00:00:00 [kacpi_notify]
root 2482 1 0 Mar12 ? 00:00:00 rpc.statd --no-notify
uwi07 4649 1 0 Mar12 ? 00:00:05 /usr/bin/knotify4
smu09 20966 1 0 14:53 ? 00:00:00 /usr/bin/knotify4
root 22096 22047 0 15:03 pts/10 00:00:00 grep not
The problem seems to be releated to higher load on the server.
I just saw:
Mar 16 00:26:38 nero kernel: lockd: peername failed (err 107)!
Mar 16 00:27:08 nero kernel: lockd: cannot monitor sb-lola
Mar 16 00:27:08 nero kernel: rpc-srv/tcp: lockd: got error -104 when sending 40
bytes - shutting down socket
Mar 16 00:27:08 nero kernel: lockd: peername failed (err 107)!
As at the moment there is no high load, I cannot test.
