http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=587316 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=587316#c0 Summary: Nepomuk/Strigi always suspended in order to conserve system resources Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: bugzilla@go4more.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux; de-DE) AppleWebKit/532.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) rekonq Safari/532.4 Since the update to 4.4 I've been struggling hard to get Akonadi/Nepomuk/Strigi running. Nowadays at least everything but Strigi works. After every start I get the notification that "the indexing service has been suspended in order to conserve system resources" (rough translation from German). This is on a completely idle system! Workaround: Stop Strigi with the respective control panal -> hangs for a long time -> restart Strigi, or Delete all Nepomuk etc. related config files and let the file indexer start all over. Maybe related with this misinterpretation of available system resources is bug 587308 I reported earlier.
