Kashyap, on comment #11 I wrote:
# cat /proc/scsi/mptspi/8

Is this the firmware version you were looking for?
The OS is openSUSE 11.1 with kernel 2.6.27.39-0.2-default, and on bootup it
displays
<6>Fusion MPT base driver 4.00.43.00suse
<6>Copyright (c) 1999-2008 LSI Corporation

Does "<6>ioc0: LSI53C1030 C0: Capabilities={Initiator}" show that it is IT
firmware?
I cannot boot soon, it's a production system we are using heavily.
I will try to reproduce the crash this weekend (but really hope the system does
not freeze 8) ), simply enabling some /home partition backups which are now
disabled *sometimes* triggers the error.
My biggest problem is that I cannot test too much, since as I said it's a
heavily used production system, also used during the nights and on the
weekends, so it's very difficult for me to find/set a testing timeframe.
Thanks,
Richard
