Created an attachment (id=341986)
--> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=341986)
yast2 logs, as acquired by "save_y2logs"
I updated with zypper, probably either "zypper up" or "zypper patch".
I also today had that my system was missing the initrd completely, but booting
the rescue system, chrooting into it and "mkinitrd" created an initrd without
any complaints... I'm really puzzled by all this :)
Note that I am pretty sure that it is something strange with my setup that's
causing the problems and not a generic perl-bootloader or yast problem - I'm
running FACTORY with multiple kernels on another machine, upgrade all the time
and have not had a problem for a long time.
OTOH, my setup is not very special:
- installed from live USB stick
- one swap, one system partition, one data partition
- system and data partition mounted by label, swap mounted by-id:
LABEL=root / ext3 acl,user_xattr,relatime 1 1
LABEL=data /data xfs logbufs=8,logbsize=256k,noquota 1 2
/dev/disk/by-id/ata-WDC_WD1600AAJS-00WAA0_WD-WCAS2D612056-part1 swap swap
defaults 0 0
- some additional package repos, but nothing with system-relevant stuff like
yast, bootloader, kernel - only KDE, packman, VLC and stuff like that (and I
make sure that only selected packages are from packman, I know they package
also system stuff, but I don't use it)
I already tried digging, but I did not find anything, hence the bug report :)
