--- Comment #4 from Marius Tomaschewski 2010-02-09 14:59:39 UTC ---
Peter created a patch to catch routes where the route gateway is set
to the ip address leased to the interface to make dhcpcd more robust,
but I don't think we need to provide an update here (-> factory only),
because of the wrong route destination / wrong use of the static route
option.
The static route option is to set classfull routes, that is a the mask
is derived from the destination address class, that is classfull mask
255.255.0.0 for the 172.26.164.64 (172.26.0.0/16) class B network route
destination.
The dhcpcd tries to apply some tricks when there are more bits set in
the destination than in the classfull mask to make the option more
usable than "virtually useless".
Just try a ...64 - it will set a /26 route:
fixed-address 172.26.166.164;
option subnet-mask 255.255.255.255;
option routers 172.26.164.64;
option static-routes 172.26.164.64 172.26.166.164;
The fix for this problem is: remove the static-routes option.
