--- Comment #15 from Tobias Nebel 2010-01-27 12:55:00 UTC ---
Folks!
I might have a solution to the above problem:
I had the same problem as described above, when I ran the OpenSuse Updater (not
Yast). It recommended a security update updating my Kernel 2.6.27.39 to
2.6.27.42. The update was done at 2010-01-25 16:13:19 see attached zypp-history
log file
I am using OpenSuse 11.1, the output of uname -a is:
Linux fritz 2.6.27.42-0.1-pae #1 SMP 2010-01-06 16:07:25 +0100 i686 i686 i386
GNU/Linux
After the next reboot I could not use my usb-mouse any more, nor was the
network connection working. We found out that only one update patch was
installed. So we tried to manually install them which failed at first instance
because the root-directory ( / ) did not have enough disc-space. After removing
some cruft the manual installation was successful.
So: maybe the update fails SILENTLY if there's not enough disk-space without
reverting the kernel-updates that have already been performed...
Hoping, this will help,
Tobias
