http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=567852 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=567852#c0 Summary: Spamassassin - year 2010 bug adds 3.188 points to EVERY mail Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: suse-beta@cboltz.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer Blocker: --- Spamassassin has a very strange method to say "Happy New Year" - it adds 3.188 points to every mail. Needless to say that this can hit hard given that the default value for flagging a mail as spam is 6.31... The reason is a rule that checks for dates matching 20[1-9][0-9] in /usr/share/spamassassin: ##{ FH_DATE_PAST_20XX header FH_DATE_PAST_20XX Date =~ /20[1-9][0-9]/ [if-unset: 2006]^M describe FH_DATE_PAST_20XX The date is grossly in the future.^M ##} FH_DATE_PAST_20XX /usr/share/spamassasin/50_scores.cf: score FH_DATE_PAST_20XX 2.075 3.384 3.554 3.188 # n=2 This affects probably all versions of openSUSE and SLES - I checked 11.2 and 11.1, and would be surprised if older versions don't contain this rule.
