This is a workstation with a Grub multi boot setup for openSUSE 11.1, 11.2 and SLED11 Now and then, after rebooting 11.2, the GDM login menu hang during startup before user name can be entered. Going to console mode with Ctrl-Alt-F1 the following messages are displayed: Welcome to openSUSE 11.2 "Emerald" - Kernel 2.6.31.5-01-desktop (tty1) alfa login: Uhh, too meny forks, PIDs got reused, we're confused at 4441 startpar 308 fork-513 By entering return, it is possible to login, i.e as root and reboot. (the gdm login menu still hang after console login) Then, next time the startup process normally run ok an presents an active login menu.
