I'd argue that grub's ext3 implementation is broken then, if it's not replaying the journal. Who knows what state the file system is in?
I wouldn't argue with that. :-)
ReiserFS should be usable as a /boot file system too. I'm looking into it as low priority. The grub reiserfs block map lookup algorithm is a textbook example of bad algorithm design.
IMhO this is an upstream problem with hibernation, because it leaves the filesystem in a state where the journal has to be replied by the boot loader.
