ipmisensors is not part of the regular kernel tree. This driver is being
developed externally at:
http://bmcsensors-26.sourceforge.net/
But development stopped over 3 years ago while the driver was still not in a
suitable state for inclusion in the main kernel tree. Anyone is free to attempt
to package it as a KMP using the Build Service, but I won't. I don't have any
machine where this driver would be usable, and I also do not have the time to
look at the code and see how good or bad it is. If anyone is interested then
the best starting point would probably be Paul Harper's port to kernel 2.6.29:
http://lists.lm-sensors.org/pipermail/lm-sensors/2009-November/027246.html
For now, the only bug I can see is that sensors-detect should not recommend a
driver which we do not include in our distribution. I'll fix this.
