Look, if SuSEfirewall supports a configuration format X, but that file is
automatically processed by something which doesn't support format X, then one
of two things needs to happen (IMO):
a) SuSEfirewall needs to no longer support format X, and needs to WARN about
the unsupported format.
b) the file should NOT BE TOUCHED by programs that don't understand the file
format
c) any software which *does* touch the file needs to fully understand the file
format.
Failure to implement one (or more) of these will result in potential corruption
and breakage. This is the LAST thing you want in a firewall configuration.
