--- Comment #12 from Marius Tomaschewski 2009-11-25 07:24:55 UTC ---
On SLE11-SP1 and in Base:System/sysconfig, there are new features
implemented:
| - Improved netconfig update -m filter/usage text (fate#306274),
| improved netconfig usage text to show active modules and module
| groups and to print debug messges about disabled/skipped modules.
You can not restore with netconfig, but you can regenerate one
with current settings using:
netconfig update -m dns
or if the user or some broken tool modified it also in forced mode:
netconfig update -m dns -f
The "-m " allows you to limit the update,
especially the forced one with "-f" to a module group, that is e.g.
"-m dns", "-m nis", ... or "-m dns-bind".
| - First implementation of netconfig DNS service ranking allowing
| to specify which service provide preffered, e.g. vpn, and which
| fallback settings, e.g. avahi (fate#306342).
| Cleaned up netconfig.d/nis and ntp-runtime modules, apply policy
| with disabled filename glob expansion.
This feature allows to prepend e.g. vpn nameservers. The ranking can
be defined in NETCONFIG_DNS_RANKING -- when empty a default setting
is used:
"+strongswan +openswan +openvpn -avahi"
This means: prepend dns settings from openswan|strongswan|openvpn
in the front, use settings provided by avahi as fallback only.
I think, it is required to add "+novell-ipsec-tools" and/or "+racoon"
to the list.
Jiri, Bin Li, please let me know which services names are used.
