--- Comment #29 from andreas bittner 2009-11-23 13:03:22 UTC ---
i tried those factory repository radeonhd drivers, but only found some newer
ones in that directory.
so i have installed
xorg-x11-driver-video-radeonhd-1.3.0_20091106_619706-2.2.i586
at the moment.
but still, to no avail.
i get screen powersaving (via the screen hardware), as it doesnt receive any
signals on the vga port it seems. during sax2 or during init5 with this
configuration, my screen goes blank, and after a small while it powers down due
to lack of vga signals.
so this didnt help. i cann still try that other board, but it will take me a
while but i think this board (chipset, slight variation of other, as they all
use the radeonhd drivers) doesnt make a difference, the bug is still in this
whole driver.
also: when searching for radeon through the novell bugzilla, i find loads of
radeonhd related bugs with tags and subjects such as blank screen, empty
display, black display and so on.
is this whole radeonhd effort this buggy or this alpha/early software that is
has such essential bugs and problems?
is there any eta or more details project information about radeonhd and its
current status, features/bugs and so on? this seems really weird to me that (at
least with 11.1) a graphics card fails to output pixel data properly only
because its attached to some kvm device, whereas other gfx (the other intel
board i tested quite a while ago with my same kvm) drivers dont seem to have
this kind of problems?
thanks and regards.
