Werner/Stephan, as discussed with Andreas, timestamps change all the time when
using quilt, by design. Even popping patches must set the timestamp of each
affected file to "now", otherwise "make" will no longer work. If you need to
preserve/control timestamps, then quilt is simply not the right tool for the
job.
You could edit /etc/quilt.quiltrc or create ~/.quiltrc with your own settings,
and have timestamps in your patches, but I presume this will not make you happy
either, as the timestamps will not be preserved across push/pop.
So I think will close this bug with WORKSFORME. quilt works, it is just not
suited for your work.
