Hello,
Just a follow up on this issue. Originally I'm from Poland but I had an
intership in the U.S. for last three months. I forgot about this issue as in
the U.S. I didn't have any single problem with wifi no matter if my laptop was
plugged in or not.
I tested this with various wifi configurations (encrypted and not) and with
various access points.
Since I returned back to Poland a few days ago I started to experience this
issue again. I tested it with my home router (D-link) and with few other access
points and when my laptop is unplugged it fails to connect.
AFAIK, the U.S. and European Union use different standards for wifi so that
might explain why it works in the U.S. but it fails in Europe. I hope this will
give you another clue where to look at.
When it comes to request by Vladimir I'll try his suggestion on a weekend since
I'll have some free time and controlled wifi network, finally.
