http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=546579 Summary: When running a remote desktop session (LTSP), clicking Cancel to exit a YaST module raises an error message: "Xlib Generic Event Extension missing on display" Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Milestone 8 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: asimonelli@acacorp.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Created an attachment (id=322308) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=322308) This is a screenshot of the actual window that appears User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20090909 SUSE/3.5.3-1.3 Firefox/3.5.3 When opening YaST from an KIWI-LTSP client session, everything works as expected. However, when in a module of YaST, if the cancel button is clicked, it closes, but a window opens and complains about Xlib Generic Event Extension missing on display "X.X.X.X:7.0". After you close that window, nothing else happens. While this does not cause any harm and everything functions normally, this still makes you think something went wrong. This message is not displayed if you click OK, and happens in both KDE and GNOME so it is desktop independent. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. From a KIWI-LTSP client session, open YaST 2. Open a YaST module, such as Hostnames 3. Click the Cancel button Actual Results: A window complaining about Xlib: extension "Generic Event Extension" missing on display "192.168.0.x:7.0". about 12 times. Expected Results: For the YaST module to exit without any message. Again this does not cause any problems or prevent the user form doing anything. It seems to be a benign message. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
