It only removes the lock file. The kdm process is still working just fine. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. log in from kdm 2. switch to some vt, for example press ctrl+alt+2 3. log in as root here 4. exeute "rcxdm stop" or "rcxdm restart" Actual Results: rcxdm reports success and deletes the lock file but kdm still works undisturbed.
