So to make sure I understand you correctly your "solution" is to ignore the
problem even though it affects a large percentage of the pentium 4 desktops at
least from dell that all support 4gb (and recognize it just fine in windows
vista I might add) and the pae kernel was specifically designed to allow 4gb to
be recognized. The pc doesn't support running x86_64 or I'd have x86_64 on
it.
I've tested each of the milestones up to milestone 6 to see if anything
changed. Guess I've just been wasting my time. This is the 3rd or 4th bug
report I've submitted where the end solution appears to be "We are just going
to ignore it and hope it goes away." (one specific example was a bug report I
submitted about the radeon driver not allowing desktop effects to be enabled on
one of the milestones when the previous milestone worked fine with it).
Why should I or other testers keep submitting bug reports if the answer is
always going to be "I don't have a clue what's causing it so we are gonna close
it and mark it resolved because we want our resolved stats to look good and a
bunch of folks didn't submit the same error."
