I meant that when some program asks for the root password and you type it,
there is usually an option to save the password for the current session (until
the next log-in). In Debian Lenny there is this option but there is and another
one option - "Save in the keyring" and if you choose "Save in the keyring"
option, you can configure "the keyring" even to use automatically (with your
user log-in) every password, which you have saved in the "keyring" before. And
in that case if you wanted, there is no need to re-enter the root password for
every application that wants it.
