Sorry, in this case - home built kernel - no support ;-)
You could hack pm-utils to make the smart-suspend check more intelligent or
just do
echo "S2RAM_OPTS='-f'" > /etc/pm/config.d/suspend
Another thing: even when i915 is built into the kernel, why is there no
/sys/module/i915 directory? Isn't this a kernel bug? (the existence of this
directory is used by pm-utils to find out if i915 is loaded).
And finally, I'm using kms just fine with stock factory kernel:
seife@stoetzler:~> grep i915 /etc/sysconfig/* /etc/modprobe.d/*
/etc/sysconfig/kernel:INITRD_MODULES="fan thermal i2c_algo_bit drm intel-agp
i915 ata_generic processor thermal ata_piix piix ide_pci_generic fan jbd ext3
edd"
/etc/modprobe.d/99-local.conf:options i915 modeset=1
(yes, finding out that intel-agp is additionally needed was the hard part ;)
So for me this is wontfix, but feel free to complain to the kernel guys or to
improve pm-utils.
Thanks!
