http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=533603 Summary: clean install picking LVM allows max volume size of 20Gb on SATA drives Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Milestone 6 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: martin@etainable.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.2) Gecko/20090730 SUSE/3.5.2-2.4 Firefox/3.5.2 Tried to build new system on an AMD x86_64 platform. reformatting for LVM and ext4. LVM will only use 20GB of a DISK. Tried on 160GB Intel SDD and 320GB WesternDigital drives. Partition based builds can use the entire disk. Used new disks in both cases with no pre-existing partitioning information. (Occurred in M4 and M5 as well (didn't try on my M3 build). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.start the install process 2.select LVM disk proposal 3.edit LV definition and cannot resize >20GB Actual Results: makes an LVM partition that is 20GB and allocates ~5.5GB to root. Cannot add additional LV on the space or extend the LV to use more than 20GB of disk. Expected Results: LVM would see entire disk, and use available space. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
