--- Comment #20 from pgnet Dev 2009-08-17 10:06:48 MDT ---
at this point i think this issue may be moot ...
i've upgraded to,
uname -ri
2.6.27.29-18-xen x86_64
rpm -qa | grep -i xen
kernel-xen-base-2.6.27.29-18.1
xen-libs-3.4.1_19718_01-10.1
kernel-xen-extra-2.6.27.29-18.1
kernel-xen-2.6.27.29-18.1
xen-tools-3.4.1_19718_01-10.1
xen-3.4.1_19718_01-10.1
booting to,
...
kernel /xen.gz dom0_mem=768M loglvl=all loglvl_guest=all
vga=gfx-1280x1024x32 console=vga,com1 com1=57600,8n1 cpufreq=xen:performance
cpuidle iommu=1
...
and added a workaround
( per https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=530035 )
to get power mgmt settings to stick across boot.
now after boot, i _consistently_ get,
cat /proc/cpuinfo | egrep -i "processor|MHz"
processor : 0
model name : AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 920 Processor
cpu MHz : 2800.000
power management: ts ttp tm stc 100mhzsteps hwpstate
processor : 1
model name : AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 920 Processor
cpu MHz : 2800.000
power management: ts ttp tm stc 100mhzsteps hwpstate
processor : 2
model name : AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 920 Processor
cpu MHz : 2800.000
power management: ts ttp tm stc 100mhzsteps hwpstate
processor : 3
model name : AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 920 Processor
cpu MHz : 2800.000
power management: ts ttp tm stc 100mhzsteps hwpstate
which are _read_, not measured, CPU freq values.
i _think_ the issue now lies primarily in #530035.
if you agree, feel free to close here; if not, please let me know, and i can
attach here add'l info, per request.
