Some relevant stuff found on the net:

#1 seems to imply that the problem is that the build of the jdk is stripping
too many symbols from something (libjvm?).

#2 suggests a workaround, but it does not work:

$ jmap -J-d32 -heap 25213
This Java instance does not support a 32-bit JVM.
Please install the desired version.
