since I re-installed Opensuse 11.0, I can no longer send a protocol.
But I will give the following equivalent information:
I try to burn a DVD+R at say 8 X speed. Software buffer is reported
full. Hardware buffer is reported to vary between 60% and 5 %.
Estimated burning speed is reported to vary between 2.3 x and 3 x.
This is what happens in 11.1 and its sata-via-modules. By the way, the
resulting DVD has no errors.
Kernel 2.6.27.25
In 11.0, software buffer remains over 90% and the estimated burning
speed gradually rises from 6.5x to 8x.
Kernel 2.6.25.20
I do not think, there is an error in the kernel, but rather in the
sata-via-module, because there is a considerable difference in its
size between version 11.0 and 11.1. Maybe something importent has been
lost in the new module code?
