Ok, I'm officially confused now.
Testing with recent apps on 11.1.
IIRC session management worked in the past for Gnome, KDE, WindowMaker ...
(we had a patch to make it work correctly, which is obsoleted now by another
approach).
Now I cannot get it to work correctly in WindowMaker or Gnome (and as reported
KDE) while it should work.
http://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla1.9.1/source/toolkit/xre/nsNativeAppSupportUni...
is the code in Gecko 1.9.1 to support that.
Firefox is restarting correctly in WindowMaker but the restart command is not
set as expected (still works though).
Thunderbird breaks as it tries to start thunderbird-bin which is not in the
path and wouldn't work anyway.
In Gnome I don't get it to work at all for both (I've enabled session saving).
So
- is there some Gnome guy who can explain the xsmp support in Gnome to me?
- where does Gnome/metacity save the session information?
