Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Hotplug AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mgiannakidis@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.12) Gecko/2009071200 SUSE/3.0.12-0.1.2 Firefox/3.0.12 I am running OpenSuse 11.1 on a HP EliteBook 8730w. lspi detects: Ricoh Co Ltd R5C822 SD/SDIO/MMC/MS/MSPro Host Adapter, and module sdhci_pci is loaded. However, when I insert an SD card, it is not detected. Kernel is: 2.6.27.25-0.1-default #1 SMP 2009-07-01 15:37:09 +0200 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux I found a similar issue on ubuntu forums but for an older kernel: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-source-2.6.22/+bug/111089 The fix suggested there works for me as well. I issue the commands: sudo setpci -s 86:06.1 0xCA=0x57 sudo setpci -s 86:06.1 0xCB=0x02 sudo setpci -s 86:06.1 0xCA=0x00 After this, an SD card is detected. No MMC or other cards have been tested though. People with similar hardware mention no issues with the card reader on opensuse wiki. Regards Michalis Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Boot opensuse 11.1. Insert an SD card into the reader. Actual Results: No card is detected. Expected Results: Memory card should be detected. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
