I'll explain why (I know you know the definitions):
Routing is the process of selecting paths in a network along which to send
network traffic.
Multipath routing is the routing technique of leveraging multiple alternative
paths through a network.
Both of them can select paths where traffic (network/storage) can be sent to.
Does that explain the/my confusion?
Anyways, thanks for the work; the rc-link also is easy to fix and makes the
work of the systemadmins more consistent (on SUSE).
